We’re inside the CommonWealth Development building in Madison, WI. You’ll receive detailed entry instructions—including where to park and how to find us—after your booking is confirmed.

Where do I park?

Parking is available in the building lot. If it’s full, don’t stress—there’s usually plenty of free street parking

Can I book a same-day rental?

While our booking system doesn’t currently allow same-day reservations, you can always shoot us a message or email if you’re hoping to snag a last-minute spot. We’ll let you know if the studio’s free!

Question 4

How many hours should I book?

Accepted Answer

Your rental time must include your setup, breakdown, and cleanup. For example, if you’re planning a 1-hour shoot, we recommend booking a 1.5 hour block so you don't feel like your rushing to clean up after your client.

What happens if I go over my booked time?

Accepted Answer

We get it—sometimes shoots run long. If you go more than 10 minutes past your scheduled end time, we’ll need to charge for an additional hour and/or a cleaning fee. To respect back-to-back bookings, please plan ahead and leave time to clean up before your session ends.

What’s your cancellation/reschedule policy?

All rentals are non-refundable. That said, we know things come up. You’re welcome to reschedule 1x at no extra cost if you give at least 48 hours’ notice. Requests made with less than 48 hours’ notice will include a rescheduling fee of $25 per hour (based on your original booking length).

Do you provide equipment?

We keep a few equipment essentials on hand to help you bring your vision to life:

• 2 C-stands
 • 2 V-flats
 • 3 sandbags
 • Reflector kit
 • Standard light stands
 • A ring light

Feel free to bring any additional gear you love to work with—we welcome it! Just remember to factor in setup and breakdown time when booking your hours.

When’s the best time of day to shoot?

Want a touch of warmth in your photos? Book in the late afternoon for warm, natural light from our west-facing windows. Earlier in the day offers soft, even lighting—perfect for clean and airy looks. Each season brings its own mood, so explore different times and see what you love most.

Is there a restroom available?

Yes—restrooms are located on the floor directly above our suite. Quick elevator ride or a short walk up the stairs and you’re there.

Do you allow pets in the studio?

Accepted Answer

Not at this time—Studio M is currently a pet-free space.

Can I bring my own props?

Accepted Answer
